Bitcoin registers an all-time low transaction volume, spot trading fades away

Image
Since February 2024, Bitcoin (BTC) has traded in a price range between $60,000 and $72,000, with two deviations. This has carved a mostly neutral momentum for the leading cryptocurrency, now seeing its trading and transaction volume fade away. Finbold retrieved data from Santiment on June 2 showing both metrics with the BTC price, currently at $68,100. In particular, the seven-day trading volume plummeted below $14 billion to the same level as 2023, when Bitcoin traded below $30,000. Moreover, the chart evidences a lack of interest in Bitcoin trading and on-chain transaction volume s, with the second remarkably low. As observed, the network registered only 722,000 BTC moved in seven days. This contrasts with the 1.79 million BTC in October 2023, with a similar trading volume and half the price. The Honduras banking regulator has implemented immediate measures prohibiting institutions under its authority from engaging in cryptocurrency trading .  In a resolution, the National Banking and Securities Commission or CNBS noted that the move takes effect immediately and aims to mitigate the risks of fraud and money laundering, Reuters reported on February 16.  Entities under its mandate are instructed not to ‘maintain, invest, intermediate, or trade in cryptocurrencies, crypto-assets, virtual currencies, tokens, or similar virtual assets not issued or authorized by the central bank’. The ‘WAGMI’ mentality is undermining crypto

Image
Greed, irrationality and anxiety have contributed to chaos in the crypto market. Investors should work on self-improvement if they want the industry to succeed. In 2021, it seemed as if 10 new Disneys — and the next 20 Picassos — were emerging from blockchain and various nonfungible token (NFT) collections. Exorbitant NFT values that year signaled strong belief in many projects. But two years later, those “next Disneys” have delivered little. The situation has created significant market frustration and disillusionment among investors and enthusiasts alike. Project failures are often attributed to founders. Yet, the greed, anxiety, and irrationality prevalent among Web3 participants have also played a substantial role in the ecosystem. Uniswap’s new trading fee neglects UNI holders

The world’s largest so-called decentralized exchange, Uniswap, has introduced a 0.15% fee on its most popular trading pairs — a move that will not benefit UNI tokenholders. Incredibly, Uniswap Labs founder Hayden Adams claims that this new fee is separate from Uniswap Protocol’s fee switch function, which UNI token holders govern. Aggravating UNI holders with this decision continues a long history of overlooking Uniswap’s curious coin offering. Indeed, the price of UNI has declined 91% since its all-time high. Worse, Uniswap functioned for two years without the need for any governance token. Coinciding with a generous allocation to Adams and a group of early insiders, Uniswap oddly bolted its UNI token onto its otherwise well-functioning ecosystem on September 16, 2020. With $3 billion in total value locked (TVL) and a #1 ranking on DEX volume leaderboards, Uniswap .org is by far the world’s most popular website to swap digital assets in a non-custodial manner. How to evaluate any crypto project using fundamental analysis

Image
Different from traditional markets, the crypto market has its own set of key questions to consider when analyzing a project and its assets. Fundamental analysis is the process of finding the intrinsic value of an asset, with the goal to determine whether the asset is overvalued or undervalued. That information can then be leveraged along with technical analysis to decide whether to invest in or trade an asset. In cryptocurrency fundamental analysis, the approach is somewhat different than that typically used to evaluate legacy market assets. Crypto assets don’t have the historical data required, because there’s usually no history of earnings reports or profit and loss statements. For cryptocurrency analysis, all the available information on the asset needs to be sought out through research that includes investigating its use cases, its network, the team behind the project, vesting schedules, the list goes on. By looking at the right set of factors, traders can determine the fundamenta...

Bitcoin Jack’s BTC trading is based on a list of risks and components

Image
When evaluating the crypto market, Bitcoin Jack looks at multiple components from a self-made list, basing his analysis more on timing than specific price levels. Well-known Twitter personality Bitcoin Jack, who tweets as @BTC_JackSparrow, joined Cointelegraph’s Crypto Trading Secrets Podcast for an interview, which was recorded on Dec. 19. Jack covers many topics in the episode, including how he looks at the crypto space and prioritizes timing over price levels — “when” over “where.” Jack analyzes the crypto market based on a self-made list of possible risk factors.  “When I look at ‘when,’ I’m trying to figure out what’s going on and what I want to see in the market to happen before I kind of think that the list of risks dissipate out of the market enough,” he explained when answering a question about Bitcoin’s (BTC) price at the time of recording. Jack mentioned that he maintains a personal list that includes crypto industry entities, global economic factors and other component...
